It's easy to let things get to us, but a lot of the times we cause more damage with our reaction to negativity than the negativity does.
Something or someone annoys us, we snap, making ourselves unbearable to be around. Someone takes a dig at us, we lash out, escalating the situation. We see something on the internet that upsets us and we let it ruin our whole day, or worse we get caught up in an online debate that sucks the life out of everything it touches.
So what do you do? Stop. Don't react on your impulse. When reacting to negativity.... Most the time doing nothing is the best thing to do. Think about why you want to react the way you do. Think about the effect your reaction would have on yourself and those around you. Breathe. Ask yourself "is it really that serious?" "Do i really want to validate their actions?" "Does my reaction only empower their negativity?"
Letting negativity get to you only gives power to those who have no business having it, or gives them control over your emotions, and that's a dangerous thing to hand over.
On top of that... If you're anything like me... energy is hard to come by. If you're constantly being pulled around by the world, annoyed by this, provoked by that, you're going to find you hardly have energy for anything else. Stuck in a spiral of negativity... tired and upset.
Don't let negativity have that kind of control.

Be unbothered. Indifferent to negative criticism or comments, not annoyed or provoked.
